Cops to remain connected through regular online Ezine

SOUTH Yorkshire Police Federation members will continue to be kept bang up to date with all policing news and views with www.sypfcopperconnection.co.uk and hard copy magazines when required.

Following a survey of members, the Federation has decided to save some funds on production costs by holding off from regularly publishing a hard copy magazine – but members will still be kept well informed with this Ezine.

A survey of officers– which 200 officers responded to – revealed 55 per cent of Awanted to have an Ezine each month, while 16 per cent of respondents plumped for a hard copy magazine three times a year.

Just over 28 per cent of respondents said they wanted both.

Neil Bowles, chairman of South Yorkshire Police Federation, said: “We are mindful of the fact that a sizeable minority wanted both – so while we no longer will have the hard copy, if and when we feel we need to produce an edition we will do so. But this will not be on a regular basis.”

One respondent said: “Love the content of both but sometimes can’t locate a hard copy.”

Another officer said: “A hard copy has got to be a thing of the past, as well as a waste of fed finances.”
