SYP Officers awarded for saving a man’s life

TWO Barnsley PCs have been awarded the Superintendent’s Good Work Minutes for their quick-thinking actions that saved a man’s life in Barnsley town centre earlier this year.

PC Duncan Gillett and PC Rosie O’Grady were on patrol in the town centre in June when they came across a man laid out on the floor, unresponsive.

The officers gave the man first aid, but he stopped breathing. The officers started doing CPR while calling an ambulance. After about a minute, the man started breathing again.

Their Good Work Minutes read: “The male survived this incident and made a full recovery. I have no hesitation in awarding you this Good Work Minute in recognition of your professionalism that clearly assisted in saving the man’s life.”
