Celebrating Our Bravest Officers

The South Yorkshire Police Federation Bravery Awards are returning in May, celebrating officers’ exceptional teamwork and courage in difficult situations.

Federation Chair Steve Kent said he was excited about the awards ceremony. He said: “It’s one of the rare occasions in policing where it’s completely, 100% positive. The local media runs with it, and sometimes the national media picks up on it. It’s just a great night to have positivity, and to recognise officers’ hard work and bravery.

“The feedback is always immensely positive too. We’re over the moon to be doing it again and long may it continue. It’s about, for once, celebrating what’s great about being a police officer and showing a mere snippet of the bravery that is displayed every day by our officers.”
