Wellbeing ‘A Priority’ For New Chief Constable

OFFICER wellbeing will be “right up there” on the list of priorities for the new Temporary Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police, the Federation has said.

Lauren Poultney has been appointed to the role having been a police officer for 23 years working in both uniformed and detective roles. She was previously the force’s Assistant Chief Constable and is South Yorkshire’s first ever female Chief Constable.

South Yorkshire Police Federation Chair Steve Kent said: “We would like to congratulate Lauren Poultney as our new Chief Constable.

“We’ve had a really positive working relationship with Lauren Poultney when she was Assistant Chief Constable and now we’re looking forward to working with her as the new Chief.

“I’m very confident that wellbeing and welfare for officers is right up there on her list of priorities. We look forward to that carrying on.”
